We have now offered cadetships to 5 of the 20 candidates interviewed. Good luck and good flying to Amy Barsby, Anthony Keighly, David Price, James Ruddock and Lawrence Taylor.
We had a busy Club Week at the end of July, flying every day and fitting in those ever so necessary lectures during the two unflyable mornings. Congratulations to Malcolm Dean, Andy Huggon and Henry Stott on successfully completing their first solos, also to Dean Eden on re-soloing after a break of 12 years.
One of our intrepid instructors, John Richardson (known to us as JR), recently achieved his 30 minutes of TV fame, appearing on the Gloria Hunniford show. His daughter, Stephanie, nominated him for a ‘Make-over for Father’s Day’. What a suave transformation from the normal old T-shirt, holy jeans and mucky ‘gliding gliding gliding’ hat! Don’t suppose he’ll repeat that £150 haircut though!
May I belatedly say apologies to Rufforth; we missed thanking them for their super hospitality during our Spring closure - the Mosquito syndicate in particular were enjoying themselves so much over there, I didn't see them to find out about it in time for the previous issues!
